Primary precinct opens at Heritage College

Heritage College students and teachers gathered to celebrate the grand opening of the new primary school facilities at the Officer campus.

Delayed due to Covid-19 restrictions, the event held on Thursday 5 May allowed the school community to commemorate the finalised project which was finished in February.

Eastern Victoria MP Harriet Shing was in attendance, as well as representatives from Kneeler Design Architects, Newpol Construction and Adventist Schools Victoria.

In the build initial four classroom primary facilities were extended into a new primary precinct which includes a second wing with seven additional classroom spaces.

In plans developed by Kneeler Design Architects, the new precinct also includes group learning spaces, a music room and a dedicated multi-purpose area.

The outdoor recreation space was improved with an additional basketball court, providing a second court for primary students.

Newpol Construction was commissioned to complete the building works.

The building project is a significant investment in the infrastructure of the college, provided with the assistance of the Victorian State Government Building Grants program.

Heritage College principal Sonny Aiono said the local community would benefit from the project.

“We are grateful for the state government’s support in providing this substantial funding, which allows us to meet the demands of growth in the local community,“ he said.

“This is certainly a blessing from God and an answer to prayer.

“This project allows us to build on our strong enrolment growth and offer a diverse range of learning options for families.“
