Goodbye potholes on Kooweerup Road

The southern end of Healesville-Kooweerup Road between Ellett and Manks roads will be resurfaced this month.

It comes after crews finished resurfacing the north section of Healesville-Kooweerup Road between Livestock Way and Ellett Road in March.

To carry out these works, maintain worker safety and minimise traffic delays – sections of Healesville-Kooweerup Road will be closed during the night.

The road closure will be between Ballarto and Manks roads on Thursday 5 May and between Princes Freeway and Ballarto Road on Sunday 8 May and Monday 9 May.

Works will be completed in sections to minimise disruptions and lower delay times for the local community.

Other upcoming works on the Healesville-Kooweerup Road Upgrade include the continued installation of long-term construction barriers between Ellett and Manks roads from late April to mid-May.

At the northern section of the upgrade, crews are starting early works at the Hall Road intersection this month.

This will involve relocating the light poles, installing temporary traffic lights, and asphalting and line marking works at the intersection.

Works scheduled to take place during the closure of Healesville-Kooweerup Road are designed to minimise prolonged traffic impacts for residents and the wider community.

Detours will be in place during these closures and access to local properties and businesses will be maintained at all times. Traffic controllers will be in place to guide local traffic through.

Major construction is expected to commence on Healesville-Kooweerup Road by mid-year.

Crews have been on-site since mid-2021 locating utility services and site investigations to better understand ground conditions.

The Healesville-Kooweerup Road Upgrade is expected to be completed by 2025.
