Boy struck by car in Upper Beaconsfield

A primary school aged boy is being taken to the Royal Children’s Hospital in what’s believed to be a stable condition after being struck by a vehicle.

The incident occurred on Beaconsfield-Emerald Road/Paul Grove Beaconsfield Upper at around 8.50am on Monday 2 May.

“It is understood a nine-year-old boy was cycling down the footpath at Emerald Road before he crossed Paul Grove and collided with a twin cab Volkswagen utility at about 8.50am,” a Victoria Police spokesperson said.

“The child was taken to the Royal Children’s Hospital with minor injuries.

“The male drier of the utility was not injured.”

Police are investigating following the collision.
