Families are planting the seeds for a better future by getting behind Earth Day 2022 at Deep Creek Reserve, Pakenham.
The event held by Cardinia Shire Council was a day of free family fun and education.
Children got the chance to learn how to live a more sustainable life and got involved in games and challenges as they explored the Deep Creek area.
A range of free activities were available including planting seedlings and meeting earth worms up close as well as taking part in solar science to learn about the power of the sun.
Cardinia Shire Mayor Jeff Springfield said council was proud to provide environmental education to the community.
“Families could join in on Earth Day activities and learn how to reduce waste, save energy and promote native habitats in their local community,“ Cr Springfield said.
“This was a good opportunity for kids to get their hands dirty and learn more about their natural environment.”
