Supporting multicultural communities through Covid

In an effort to help those struggling with the lasting impacts of the pandemic, the Cardinia Shire Council is offering assistance to locals via their new Covid-19 Multicultural Community Connection Grants Program.

The $50,000 program will provide Covid-19 response and recovery support to local multicultural communities including access to one-off payments of up to $5,000 for Cardinia Shire based multicultural community groups, services and not-for-profit organisations.

The program will support culturally and linguistically diverse communities (CALD) to develop appropriate processes and procedures to aid in Covid-19 recovery and to keep our more vulnerable residents safe and connected to the community.

Applications open on Tuesday 1 February and will stay open until all $50,000 of the funds are exhausted.

The grants program is made possible with grant funding received from the state government’s Department of Family, Fairness and Housing.
