In a Covid safe environment, the Lang Lang Agricultural Show was able to go ahead and it was a huge weekend for horse competitors with over 1000 classes run and won, from the kids on their ponies in the Fun and Pony Club Rings having the best time to the beautiful show hacks.
Horse show secretary Anne De Winter said the two day event over 15 and 16 January was “hugely successful”.
“We were very happy, especially in these times when other shows have gone under or had to cancel,” she said.
“We were very lucky to have it go ahead.
“Entries were probably a little bit down due to Covid but overall we were really pleased with the turn out and the quality of entrants was superb, second to none.”
Ms De Winter said a popular feature event was the Off The Track classes for retired racehorses, the ridden hack section won by Rebecca Phillips from Narre Warren.
Ms Phillips was also the winner of Fashions On The Field with Evening Star STR.
Local rider Clint Bilson took home the Champion Hack for owner Chennelle Jenkins aboard Bellaire Cartier.
Sunday saw hundreds of breed horses and harness competitors attended for another fantastic day of showing in the beautiful sunshine.
