Santa visits Bellevue Orchard for a cause

Santa paid a visit to Bellevue Orchard in Officer to pose for some photos and raise much needed funds for Cancer research.

Locals Nathan Russo and Adam Corcoran are entering the Autumn 2022 Shitbox Rally as Team Sherry Bomb, raising money for Cancer Council Australia.

Shitbox Rally is the biggest community led fundraiser for the Cancer Council.

Not wanting to drag his own kids down to Fountain Gate for a photo with Santa, particularly during a pandemic, Nathan decided to team up with Bellevue Orchard and Lauren Murphy Photography to offer photos with Santa in a beautiful rustic setting at the farm gate shop to help Team Sherry Bomb meet their fundraising goals.

The response from the community was overwhelming, with over 200 families (dogs and all) coming in for photos, raising over $6,500.

Bellevue Orchard Farm Gate shop also donated a percentage of sales from the weekend, raising another $1,500.

Their food van was churning out pizzas and pretzels and their apple juice slushies were a big hit among the kids and Santa, especially when he’d been sitting in the sun all day.

Since the event finished, they’ve been inundated with messages from disappointed people who missed out, but rest assured that Santa will definitely be back next year to raise even more money for this great cause.

Team Sherry Bomb are also on the lookout for corporate sponsors, so get in touch if you’d like to get your business’ stickers on their rally car (a ’98 Camry that’s been sitting out in a paddock for the last four years)

If you’d like to support Team Sherry Bomb, you can make a donation via their WeGive page autumn2022.shitboxrally.com.au/sherry-bomb.
