Health care worker attacked in Pakenham

A health care worker has been allegedly attacked in Pakenham while administering a Covid-19 test.

The Victorian Department of Health released a statement on Tuesday 30 November, stating that they were aware of an “alleged incident of aggression against a Covid-19 testing site worker in Pakenham today.”

“This did not result in injury, but will be reported to police,” they said.

It comes as a worker at a Covid-19 testing site in Collingwood was injured in an alleged hit and run.

The Department of Health said the worker had been hospitalised.

“We give him and his family our best wishes,” they said.

“These professionals work on the frontline to protect all of us. Authorities won’t tolerate any attempt to harm workers, and neither will the Victorian community.”
