Three cars impounded for 30 days

Three cars were impounded, and drivers were issued with fines up to $1038.

ALLEGED speedsters have been made to pay more than $3000 in fines following a series of highway arrests by Pakenham police.
At 11.40pm on Wednesday 3 August, division van members caught up with two speedsters after they were detected travelling at 150km/h as they drove west in the 100km/h zone along Princes Freeway, Officer.
Police intercepted the Holden Commodore and Toyota Corolla on the Monash Freeway at Hallam.
Both cars were impounded for 30 days, and the owners will have to pay $1032 towing and storage costs for the Toyota and $1038 for the Holden.
The driver of the Toyota, a 22-year-old Cranbourne West woman, is expected to be charged on summons for exceeding the speed limit and speed dangerous.
The driver of the Holden, a 38-year-old Hampton Park man, is also expected to be charged on summons for exceeding the speed limit and speed dangerous.
Hours later, a Subaru station wagon was observed driving erratically as it travelled west along Princes Highway, Pakenham.
Police intercepted the vehicle after 1.45am on Thursday 4 August and made the driver, a 29-year-old Hallam man, conduct a breath test.
He returned an evidentiary breath test result of 0.092 per cent and had his licence suspended.
His car was impounded for a period of 30 days, and he will have to pay $972 towing and storage costs to get it back.
The man is expected to be charged on summons with driving while suspended and drink driving.
