CARAVAN World Pakenham offers the advantage of consignment selling, according to director Clinton Richards.
Clinton and his fellow directors – brother Stephen and brother-in-law Michael Schewtwchenko – said the business sells privately owned caravans at their premises on consignment on behalf of the owner.
“Current caravan owners can bring their caravan to us and we will sell it for them,” he said.
And of course prospective buyers can also come to Caravan World Pakenham to buy caravans too.”
They stock new and used caravans and are agents for the luxurious APEX brand of new caravans – these are lightweight, large caravans with lots of features including slide-out rooms, electric awnings, full ensuite and laundry.
But it is their consignment selling that really stands them apart from other dealers.
“We offer a hassle-free solution to caravan owners, they can bring their van to us and we will sell it for them,” Clinton said.
“We are open seven days with experienced staff. Owners do not have to worry about strangers coming to their home to view the caravan. We take care of the paperwork and the registration transfer. It is easy, there is nothing for the owners to do. Purchasers can choose from our wide range of caravans, see dozens of caravans in one place.”
The business, open in the area for the past 18 months, also has an experienced staff, led by sales manager Barry Yule.
“Our sales manager Barry has 30 years experience in caravan sales,” he said.
“He is friendly and happy to help.”
And of course it’s a family business, Clinton and Stephen are brothers and Michael is a brother-in-law, and all have more than 25 years experience in customer service/sales roles in their other businesses.
“We are a family business and we do not use pressure selling,” he said.
“It’s a relaxed environment, look at our range, have a break at the Mega Mart cafe, it’s a pleasant way to buy a caravan. Because we are not a traditional dealer with our own stock, when we are selling a privately owned caravan we are not in competition. If you can’t bring your caravan to us we can arrange transport.
“We can arrange warranty on selected models. We can also arrange things like insurance, finance, service and repairs.”
