Racecourse Road midnight robbery

By ANEEKA SIMONIS

A 19-YEAR-OLD man was followed by three men who robbed him in the dead of the night in Pakenham.
Police said the teen was trailed by a group of men believed to be aged in their twenties as he walked home from Pakenham train station after 1.30am on Wednesday 18 November.
As he turned onto Racecourse Road, the three men approached the 19-year-old, asking him for cigarettes and cash.
When he refused, the men then demanded he hand over his phone – threatening to hurt him if he did not comply.
The teen handed over his phone to the men who fled east on Racecourse Road by foot.
The men are described as Caucasian and aged in their early twenties.
One man is believed to have an eyebrow and lip ring, one man was described as having short dark hair and the third man was wearing a baseball cap during the robbery.
Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
