DUST off your Santa hat – Christmas is fast approaching and so is the 2015 Pakenham Carols by Candlelight event.
With the unique claim to fame as the shire’s biggest sing-a-long, the free event will be held on Saturday 12 December at Toomuc Reserve.
The night is being presented by Cardinia Shire Council and features carols performed by the Cardinia Civic Concert Band and a community choir. Guests will also enjoy a live nativity and the night will end with a fireworks display.
Cardinia mayor Jodie Owen said it would be a fabulous event to be enjoyed by all ages.
“Carols by Candlelight is a fantastic opportunity for the community to get together and enjoy the Christmas spirit,” she said.
“I strongly encourage all residents to bring a picnic, bring friends and family and enjoy some festive fun; we might even get a special visit from the North Pole.”
The event will be alcohol-free, smoke-free and pet-free and food and drink will be able for purchase, with proceeds donated to community organisations.
Gates will open at 6.30pm, with entertainment commencing at 7pm.
