MARANATHA stars are shining bright on the soccer field.
Their interschool sports game on Friday was a close one, with Maranatha leading going into the second half, only to be beaten in the final minutes as Cornish College kicked two sneaky goals.
Southern Independent Schools (SIS) sport co-ordinator for Maranatha Mark Radun said the students supported each other well as a team.
“Understandably they were disappointed with the final result but the overall feeling throughout the game was that the team played well together,” he said.
“The students were very enthusiastic and gave their best for the entire game, with the three goals coming from three different players.”
The best players of the day were Bradley Boutros and Alec Cameron.
Cornish College won the game, with a final score of 4-3.
