TWO men and a teenager were arrested after a $150,000 Porsche was carjacked in Fitzroy on Saturday night and found in Hampton Park hours later.
A 24-year-old Springvale man, a 22-year-old Surrey Hills man and a 16-year-old from Keysborough were remanded by police, with one charged for theft offences and kept in custody, one charged and bailed, and one released pending further inquiries.
The arrests came after the three offenders allegedly rammed a white Mitsubishi into the back of the Porsche about 10.40pm on Saturday 11 July while the 44-year-old Porsche driver, from Bundoora, was stopped at traffic lights on Nicholson Street, near Reid Street, in North Fitzroy.
When the victim got out of his car to take a photo of the damaged Porsche one of the offenders confronted him, pulled out a gun and demanded his car keys.
The Bundoora man handed over his keys.
Another offender got into the driver’s seat of the Porsche, while the other two got back in the Mitsubishi and the two cars drove off on Nicholson Street, heading north.
Police rushed to the scene and searched the area but could not find the stolen Porsche.
Later that night, about 4am, detectives found the Porsche in Karoonda Way, Hampton Park, and arrested the three offenders, after police responded to a suspicious loitering report.
