Pooches roam the ring

By GEORGIA WESTGARTH

THREE almighty pooches had more than 70 primary school children in stitches at the Hampton Park Library.
Lou-lou, Pip and Bubbles can sing, act, juggle and walk on two feet as part of their circus act with ring leader Pete Murphy.
Between blatantly disobeying their master by standing when asked to sit and jumping when asked to stand, the energetic poodles provide the perfect school holiday fun.
At 15 years old Lou-lou has still got some tricks up her sleeve but owner and presenter of the show, Mr Murphy said she’s more of a supervisor now.
“Lou-lou gets hypnotised with a string of sausages and falls backwards, Pip can spring into the air like a kangaroo and the kids love Bubbles juggling and her coloured head of hair and skirt and top,” Mr Murphy said.
The comedy show allows the children to participate and have a go at instructing the canines as well.
Mr Murphy said it’s nice to see some children warm to the dogs by the end of the show.
“Some of the kids don’t have much to do with dogs at home and are scared of them but by the end are holding the dogs for a photo,” he said.
A crowd favourite is Lou-lou’s rendition of ‘how much is that doggy in the window’ and five-year-old Bubbles hat juggling skills.
