It is pointless Casey council continuing on with their graffiti abatement program if they are not going to ensure the timely removal of reported graffiti.
Reports of the same graffiti take months and multiple reports before removal, and it is extremely frustrating to see what was possibly Australia’s most successful graffiti abatement program being reduced to an expensive, slow removal service, offering little deterrent to this crime.
May I suggest the 1000 plus staff at Casey be recruited to report graffiti, and monitor its timely removal.
No point going overseas to seek out answers on graffiti when our policy has become ineffective simply because it is not being monitored efficiently by council and our elected representatives.
Don’t believe me Casey council, then don’t attack the messenger… consider enlisting your staff, community groups and locals to report graffiti, and have them tell you how it is not removed, sometimes for months, and only after numerous reports.
