WITH the enormous success of the film Pitch Perfect back in 2012, the sequel is sure to hit a high note with fans.
Anna Kendrick leads the film once again, followed by a star-studded cast including Aussie Rebel Wilson and newcomer Haile Stanfield.
Kendrick comfortably adapts into her role of leading the Bellas to their stardom, although by desiring to achieve more she begins an internship at a popular record company, hiding this from her fellow singing companions.
Stanfield shines and stands out in her role of being the new girl who becomes part of the singing and dancing mayhem that made the first film so popular.
Wilson, who portrays ‘Fat Amy’, continues to produce the one line wonders, witty remarks and the notably impressive on screen energy that makes the fans of the film keep coming back for more.
It isn’t all smooth sailing though. The Bellas are made to face a daunting and formidable challenge when faced with a rival group from Germany at the 2015 World Acapella Championships.
The Germans don’t miss a beat, but this does not stop the Bellas from hitting the mark.
Although Pitch Perfect 2 contains the same amount of sugar-coated storylines and predictable cliches that are displayed in many other comedy and musical films of the past decade, this one holds a certain sort of magic that cannot be missed by anyone.
If you adored the original film, you will be drawn and captivated to the catchy lyrics and impossible to look away from dancing that enlightens the audience with just the right mix of humour and honesty to keep the viewer tuned in at all times.
