Scrubbed up and looking pretty for new owners

By ANEEKA SIMONIS

NAILS done, hair cut and ready to impress, a number of homeless pooches across Pakenham were treated to some VIP pampering earlier this week ahead of their search for a new home.
Gracie was just one of the local, loveable rescue dogs which got some VIP treatment on Monday 15 June.
The A-grade pamper session at the hands of a professional groomer was done in the lead up to opening of Best Friends Pet Care SuperCentre’s Pakenham store which is committed to finding new homes for its animals.
Store manager Olivia Fage encourage prospective pet owners to save a life by considering adoption.
“Pet adoption means you not only find a loyal companion, you also become part of a growing movement of pet lovers who are working towards making adoption the first choice for all Australians,” she said.
“Our aim is to encourage people to see the beauty of these animals and to learn about how to responsibly care for them once they have been successfully adopted.”
On Saturday 20 June and Sunday 21 June, pet owners are invited to visit the new Pakenham supercentre to learn about pet adoption, take part in free pet photography and get some advice about caring for a pet.
