Thieves target unlocked cars

By ANEEKA SIMONIS

UNLOCKED cars continue to be the target of thieves in the Pakenham area.
From Monday 1 June until Sunday 7 June, police received three reports of property being stolen from cars, including two failed attempts.
During the same period, police received one report of number plate theft.
Cardinia Crime Investigation’s (CIU) analyst Christine Wilde said two of the three cars targeted by thieves were unlocked at the time of the incident.
Crime statistics indicate Pakenham is one of the most targetted areas for thefts from cars across Cardinia Shire.
Police continue to urge drivers to lock their cars at all times and remove valuables from sight.
