A ‘free’ day at the races… it’s on us

TWO Pakenham icons are joining forces this week with the Pakenham Racing Club hosting the first Star News Sunday Raceday at Racing.com Park, Tynong.
And the good news is – the Star News Group is shouting our lucky readers a free day at the races.
Simply tear off the masthead of any of this week’s Star News Group editions, including the Pakenham Gazette, Berwick News, Cranbourne News, Pakenham News and Dandenong Journal, and our readers will gain free entry to what’s sure to be an entertaining day of high-quality racing on the best racing surface in Australia.
Pakenham trainers might want to get in on some of the local action as well, with no local winner at the track in the three race meetings held to date.
There’ll be plenty of opportunity to train winners on Sunday, with the promising two-year-old stayers set to battle it out over 1600-metres in the XXXX Gold Handicap, while the sprinters will fight it out over the 1000-metre dash in the BM64 Handicap.
The two feature events on Sunday are the $30,000 Star News Group Showcase BM70 Handicap (1200m), and the $30,000 Evergreen Racing Surface Showcase BM70 Handicap (1600m).
This is the last turf meeting before the PRC hosts the grand opening of its Polytrack synthetic track on Tuesday 26 May.
