ABOUT 4000 people gathered around the cenotaph in Pakenham to pay their respects to Anzac soldiers in the early hours of the morning on Saturday.
Dozens of wreaths were laid at the foot of the monument, protected by members of the catafalque party (pictured).
Inscribed on the cenotaph are the names of brave soldiers who left the local community to serve the country at war.
They will never be forgotten. 138148_07 Picture: ROB CAREW
