Warriors taste glory

WHILE chocolate bunnies and fish casseroles are more popular across the Easter weekend, a group of Pakenham Warriors’ junior basketballers took to the court and savoured tournament glory.
The Pakenham Warriors had six boys representative basketball teams travel to Adelaide to compete in the Norwood Easter Classic over the Easter weekend as teams from the 12.1, 14.1, 16.1, 16.2, 18.1 and 18.4 flew the flag to represent the south east.
The group soared across the long-weekend and made the most of their match-time.
The 14.1 boys knocked off the competition – beating fellow Victorian side McKinnon Cougars in the grand final to take a 44-35 triumph.
Games were played Good Friday, Saturday and Sunday with the grand final being held on the Monday, 6 April.
