THE Pakenham Country Women’s Association (CWA) was pleased with both the spectacular weather over the weekend for the Parklea Pakenham and District Agriculture and Horticulture Show as well as the number of people that stopped for a chat at their stall.
Show Junior Ambassador Giorgi Boucher and show junior vice-president Catherine Ritchie graced the CWA stall.
The CWA stall is renowned for always being filled with goodies, smiling faces and a recipe or two, and this year it didn’t disappoint with home-baked cakes, biscuits, nut loaves, sausage rolls, scones plus a huge variety of crafts.
CWA Pakenham branch member Kathleen Langley said their Victoria cook books were keenly purchased.
The CWA raffle was a huge success once again with fruit and vegetables donated by the Pakenham Fruit and Vegetable Market.
The large basketful of colourful fruit and vegies was won by local resident Mrs Elston.
CWA craft leader Lorraine Devine won both her entries, nabbing first prize for her folk art while her embroided patchwork cushion was awarded best exhibit in the embroidery section.
