THE team from Richard Edwards Chemmart in Narre Warren is doing all it can to give back to the Casey Community this month.
To support Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month throughout February the chemist is once again trying hard to raise money for charity.
Chemmart and Ovarian Cancer Australia (OCA) will be holding their exciting fund-raising initiative, Colour for Cause, which encourages Australians to paint their nails teal.
“Chemmart is also daring men to come out in force and paint their nails teal to show their support for women affected by ovarian cancer,” Narre Warren Retail manager Sally Young said.
“Richard Edwards Chemmart Pharmacy would like to both help raise funds and promote awareness for ovarian cancer by inviting prominent local identities such as your team, to our event.
“We would like you to get your nails painted teal by one of our friendly staff members, while encouraging our local community to donate to this great cause.”
The Narre Warren Chemmart is already expecting a range of celebrities, SES volunteers and police officers to drop by on the day.
Chemmart has been an integral supporter of Ovarian Cancer Australia since its inception 14 years ago.
Narre Warren Chemmart proprietor Rebecca Edwards said ovarian cancer was particularly devastating because there was currently no early detection test.
“We are proud to be able to assist Ovarian Cancer Australia in its efforts to save lives and ensure that no woman with ovarian cancer walks alone,” she said.
“We hope to see locals, women and men alike, come out in force during February wearing their teal nail polish to show their support for women suffering from the disease.”
Teal Ribbon Day will be held on Wednesday 25 February.
