HUNDREDS of eager fans turned out to watch the Tigers train at Toomuc Recreation Reserve last week.
Richmond Football Club stamped the oval for their third consecutive year training in the Cardinia Shire which drew a lot of fans, particularly kids who were raring to take part in the player-led clinic.
Club CEO Brendon Gale said the players loved training in Cardinia – a place he described as being ‘Tiger heartland’.
“Being around kids and fans always gives players a lift and reminds them what it’s all about,” he said.
“It’s Tiger heartland here for us … a lot of fans live here so it’s great to make ourselves accessible to them as it can get hard to get into town.”
Cockatoo siblings Bohde and Tahlee were two of many kids who had their faces painted in yellow and black in support of the players, while around 400 kids took to the field after the inaugural training to refine their skills with the best in the business.
