PAKENHAM residents are urged to show their national colours and attend the Cardinia Shire’s showpiece Australia Day event next week.
Pakenham’s official Australia Day ceremony will be held at the Cardinia Cultural Centre from 11am next Monday.
Those attending will be treated to mayor Leticia Wilmot’s address, an official citizenship ceremony, presentation of the Cardinia Shire Australia Day Awards and a free community barbecue.
Children can also enjoy face painting and amusements, an animal farm, a roving clown, an SES demonstration and a native plant giveaway.
The Australia Day ambassador this year is Jane Edmanson.
