Stars out for Family Fun Day

By LACHLAN MOORHEAD

CASEY’S Family Fun Day is barely a few sleeps away.
Melbourne Stars’ Captain Cameron White, and teammates Kevin Pietersen, David Hussey and James Faulkner will be at the event, held at Casey Fields, and have encouraged the community to make it down on Sunday 14 December.
Melbourne Stars’ CEO Clint Cooper said the Fun Day was a highly anticipated day on the Casey calendar.
“Not only is it a great hit out for the team, it’s also a lot of fun prior to the serious part of the season kicking off,” he said.
“We are calling on Stars fans far and wide, and anyone who loves free family entertainment, to get along to this free community event, soak up the fantastic family atmosphere, enjoy the many rides and activities, and maybe snare an autograph or two from their favourite players.
“We are incredibly grateful for the support of the City of Casey and look forward to continuing to build this as an iconic City of Casey event.”
Casey Mayor Mick Morland said there would be something for both children and adults to enjoy at the event.
“Casey Fields will be transformed into a carnival, with roving entertainers, rides, music, stalls, prizes, giveaways and other family-friendly activities,” he said.
“Don’t miss this wonderful event which brings elite level cricket, sporting superstars and a healthy serving of fun to your own backyard!”
The Casey Family Fun Day will run this Sunday from 10am to 3pm at Casey Fields, Berwick-Cranbourne Road, Cranbourne East.
The event is free, for more information, visit www.casey.vic.gov.au/arts-leisure/melbournestars.
