Casey in carnival mode

THE City of Casey has invited residents and business owners to be part of one of its major events now in its 16th year.
It has called upon potential stallholders and performers to submit their Expressions of Interest (EOI) to perform on the community stage and be involved at the Casey Kids Carnival on 21 March next year.
The event, one of Casey’s biggest days, attracts crowds of up to $10,000 and offers free entertainment and activities for the whole family.
City of Casey mayor Mick Morland has invited different groups, including food and drink vendors, novelty stallholders and community groups to get involved in this exciting event.
“Now in its 16th year, the event attracts thousands of people to Akoonah Park, Berwick, to enjoy a free day of activities and entertainment including live performers, rides, interactive games, face painters, art and crafts and animals,” he said.
“This is a great opportunity for community groups, organisations and businesses to raise their profile in Casey, while joining in the excitement of the carnival.”
Council hopes to get plenty of EOI from potential main stage performers.
“This is the perfect opportunity for local artists to gain exposure and experience the thrill of performing in front of a crowd of thousands,” Cr Morland.
“Council would love to hear from up and coming acts and established performers who could entertain people of all ages and bring their own flavour to the Casey Kids Carnival.”
Applications for stallholder and community stage EOI close on Friday 9 January 2015.
Stallholders will be informed of the outcome of their EOI application within 21 days of applications closing.
