Christmas lunch

CARDINIA Community Christmas free lunch will ensure no one goes lonely on the festive day.
Held at the Pakenham Public Hall on Christmas day, the lunch invites all members of the Cardinia Shire community to come along for a day of mateship and fun along with all the traditional trimmings.
Guests will be treated to a decadent roast lunch with beef, turkey and ham, plenty of freshly cooked vegetables as well as traditional desserts pavlova, pudding and Christmas cake.
Event co-ordinator Susan Johns said the lunch was always well-attended by residents who always left feeling full and happy.
“There are many in this community who may have just moved into the area, are unable to afford the food or are unable to go anywhere else,” she said.
“We as volunteers and those who attend make the day fun, relaxed and enjoyable. Most of all, the food is good!”
Generous local retailors Richies IGA, Pakenham Fruit Plaza and O’Connor Meats provide the food for the occasion.
Anyone interested in attending the Christmas lunch can register in Pakenham at Terry’s Discounts, the Pakenham Opportunity Shop, Living Learning Inc or by emailing Cardinia.christmas2000@y7mail.com. Registrations close 5pm on Friday 19 December.
