A COLES store in Cardinia Lakes has been named among the supermarket giant’s top 20 nationally for fund-raising and benevolence.
Cardinia Lakes Coles has been recognised and celebrated as one of the most supportive in the country by helping raise $10m to support children and young people with cancer since last year.
The generosity of customers in Cardinia Lakes has contributed to Coles recently reaching $10 million in fundraising for Redkite – a national charity providing financial, emotional and practical support to children and young people with cancer, and their families.
Coles Cardinia Lakes raised funds through a series of barbecues, raffles and Redkite card sales while staff organised a series of morning teas, sausage sizzles, and cake drives.
Store manager Lia Campbell said she was thrilled with the result.
“The Cardinia Lakes team and community have risen to the challenge to produce amazing fund-raising results – because we know how important Redkite is in supporting Aussie families who are battling cancer,” she said.
“Coles Cardinia Lakes has been instrumental in Coles and Redkite reaching this significant fund-raising figure, and ensuring children and young people and their families get greater levels of support.”
Redkite chief executive officer Jenni Seton said the charity was grateful the Cardinia Lakes team had show community spirit and passion.
