Race craze in the sun

By BRIDGET SCOTT

HUNDREDS soaked in the sun at the Cranbourne Race Course last Sunday, 11 October, for the annual Cranbourne Cup which proved to be a hit with guests again.
Bets were placed and places were picked all amid the excitement of race day.
The new grand stand was put to work and hosted plenty of the guests who enjoyed a meal and drinks while they watched over the race track.
Star News Group photographer ROB CAREW was there to catch plenty of the action, which included drinking, dancing and most importantly, betting.
There was something there for everyone, with Fashions on the Fields for ladies, entertainment for kids and an impressive field of horses for the men. Mark Seymour entertained the crowd with a number of hit songs and got people off their picnic rugs and deck chairs to dance away the day.
