Siege culprit refused bail

By CAM LUCADOU-WELLS

A DOVETON man will face court over assault charges and threatening to inflict serious injury after a siege at his home last week.
Benjamin Stokker, 39, had allegedly been barricaded in his Paperbark Street house for three-and-a-half hours last Thursday morning.
The police’s dog squad, critical incident response team and special operations group helped arrest the man about 11.30am.
Stokker faces charges of assaulting police, firearms and weapons offences and driving offences such as evading police.
He was refused bail last week and remanded to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 31 October.
