The Victorian Committee for the Centenary of Anzac is keen to have as many people as possible make their own connections with the events of the Anzac and WWI.
There are a number of ways to become involved.
Much focus has been placed upon 25 April 2015 as the centenary of Anzac.
This is most appropriate and Berwick RSL sub branch will commemorate the event with our 11am Memorial Service, preceded by the march from the RSL in honour of returned veterans.
The Dawn Service commencing at 6am will once again be held at the Casey Civic centre.
21 October marks the centenary of the first convoy embarkation of troopships from Port Melbourne. A service will be held at Station Pier on Sunday 19 October 2014 to mark this significant event.
There are also many other significant centenary dates to remember going right through until 2020. For more information on such dates and events planned in Victoria, those interested should visit anzaccentenary.vic.gov.au.
At this site you can also research your own connection to WWI.
You can search for relatives that may have served at the time, find stories related by veterans, view the timeline showing when different events occurred and even share your own stories.
Why not ask younger members in the family to help you in this worthwhile research?
