Deception charges

By ANEEKA SIMONIS

A PAKENHAM man has been charged with allegedly deceiving a Mornington breast cancer charity of $1200 worth of tickets at a fundraising event earlier this year.
On Monday 29 September, Mornington police charged the 44-year-old man on summons with two offences of obtaining property by deception after months of investigation.
Police will allege the man did not pay for tickets he picked up for the Love Your Sister breast cancer research event on Saturday 15 February.
Detective Senior Constable Clayton Beckhouse said the man had also been charged with falsely obtaining almost $10,000 worth of tickets to the Cox Plate at the Moonee Valley Racecourse last October.
The man is due to front Frankston Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 17 December.
