Healthy business, healthy community

By BRIDGET COOK

BUSINESSES from across Cranbourne came together for a night of networking and learning at the Balla Balla Community Centre recently.
The Cranbourne Chamber of Commerce (CCC) hosted a successful business networking evening for its members and their guests on Thursday 28 August.
Mastering Change director Kate Welk, who is a local personal development and professional leadership coach, was the guest speaker for the night.
She presented on the topic of ‘business and community: the mutual benefits of partnering’, focussing on how business and community are co-dependent.
“Community relies on healthy businesses to ensure the community thrives and businesses rely on healthy communities to ensure their business thrives,” she said.
Balla Balla Community Centre manager Maree Cullinan also spoke to the crowd about the purpose of the centre and it’s benefits to the community.
“Balla Balla is a not-for-profit community based organisation whose aim is to provide a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where the community can come together to engage in activities that enhance health, social wellbeing and advance education opportunities,” she said.
The CCC hosts networking evenings each month.
