Snow White for the holidays

By BRIDGET COOK

PEOPLE’s Playhouse is bringing the family classic Snow White to Cranbourne this month for some school holiday entertainment.
The young cast, directed by Lucy Nicolson will bring to life the timeless story based on jealousy, passion, revenge, and of course little people, between Sunday 28 September and Saturday 4 October.
Snow White follows the story of a young girl who desperately wants to be reunited with her one true love, Prince Charming.
However the evil Queen won’t allow this and forces Snow White to clean the royal palace day after day.
One day a magical talking mirror arrives and tells the Queen that Snow White is “far far prettier than she.”
The Queen decides that Snow White must die so that she can be the fairest in the land and conjures up a poisoning ruby red apple for Snow White to eat.
People will have to head along to the show to find out what happens next.
Assistant Director Madelyn Bolch urged people to come along and see the show that they had all put so much work into.
“The costumes are looking fabulous and the singing is sounding great,” she said.
“Not to mention that the acting occurring on stage is far beyond the cast’s years which is very impressive for a show that has a cast age range of five through to 17.
“People should come and see this show to support local youth theatre.
“It is a great family school holiday activity and the kids will love it.
“It is a show aimed at young children, however adults will also really enjoy the humour and acting.
“The choreography is great and the songs will stay in your head for days.”
Snow White will be playing at the Cranbourne Community Theatre, in Brunt Street, between 28 September and 4 October.
