AN AWARD-WINNING artwork will make its Australian debut in Berwick next weekend.
The not-for-profit society of artists from the south-east region Provenance Artists is presenting The Great Art Show, including the Sir Gustav Nossal Fine Art Awards.
The exhibition will feature Out of the Darkness by Rikki Fisher from Nimbin, New South Wales.
The piece won an award at the recent International Scratchboard Exhibition in North Carolina, USA, and Ms Fisher also won first prize at the Cardinia Grand Art Exhibition earlier this year.
The Great Art Show will feature paintings from 200 new and established artists, from oils to acrylics, watercolours and pastels.
There are new sections in digital art, cultural art and scratchboard.
Sarah Ferrante has entered the student division with a pencil piece featuring her brother and their dog Ice Cream.
She’s hoping the artwork of the same name will win the Latrobe Trophy for the best student painting.
The home-schooled student won the prize two years ago.
There’ll be art priced from $55 to $12,000 on display.
The Great Art Show is open from 9am to 6pm on 19 and 20 September and 9am to 3pm on 21 September, in the Nossal High School auditorium at Monash University, 100 Clyde Road, Berwick.
Entry is $5 for adults and $2 for students.
