Wide world of experiences

By BRIDGET COOK

PEOPLE of all ages were taken on a trip around the world at the annual Experience Casey Festival on Saturday.
Hundreds of people turned out to Brentwood Park Community Centre to enjoy free activities and entertainment which celebrated Casey’s cultural diversity.
Performers from India, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Samoa and Africa took to the stage to entertain the crowds.
Some people enjoyed the food tasting from cuisines from around the globe while others tried their hand at cupcake decorating, Hinamatsuri Doll Making and Rangoli Sand Art.
City of Casey Mayor Geoff Ablett said the festival celebrated the value of human diversity and the strength of unity in the Casey community.
“The Experience Casey event has a great vibe with all of Casey’s cultures and traditions joining together in celebration of each other’s differences and similarities,” he said.
