Eye on the Tigers

TO CELEBRATE its first birthday, the Arena Shopping Centre at Officer is giving the opportunity for a youngster to run onto the MCG with the Richmond Tigers.
Arena is proudly a Parklea complex and a hub for the community and the competition to be a Junior Mascot for the day at the game against St Kilda on 22 August has been organised by Parklea and the Richmond Football Club.
“It’s an amazing opportunity for a very lucky child to experience what it is like to be an AFL player,” Andrew Herbert of Parklea said.
“Running onto the ‘G’ and through the banner is every fan’s dream.
“I’m just disappointed that I’m too old to enter!
“Parklea is proud to be bringing this opportunity to the Cardinia community.
“The great thing is that you don’t have to be a Richmond supporter to enter… though we can’t guarantee you won’t be converted by the end of the day!”
The competition is open to boys and girls from six to 12 years old and they can enter online at ArenaShoppingCentre.com.au or visit Facebook for more information at Facebook.com/ArenaShoppingCentre.
Entries will also be taken on the day of the first birthday party on Sunday 10 August with the prize drawn at 2pm and the winner notified by phone on Monday 11 August if they aren’t at the party.
There will be plenty of fun on the day including Dancing Queen Parties Interactive Dance Show, a jumping castle, facepainting, Richmond Football team visiting, handball competitions, children’s animal farm, a balloon party and lots of giveaways and showbags.
