Yakkerboo show merge talks

THE Pakenham Show and Yakkerboo Festival could be running together as a single, two-day event by 2017, according to Cardinia councillor Kate Lempriere.
With Cardinia Shire Council to vote on the possible capping of community event grants, Cr Lempriere said it was important the community was open to gradual change if it wanted to hold on to its traditions.
“You can’t bring change to an area suddenly,” she said.
“But we have to work out the best possible outcome for a growing number of people.”
“I have always supported Yakkerboo and the show independently. But maybe, long term, with community consultation (they could be aligned).”
