Intruder threatens, locks up resident

A MAN threatened another with a knife, locked him in a cupboard and threw food at him in a bizarre aggravated burglary last week.
Police said a man entered a house in Saul Avenue, Berwick, about 9.30am on Friday 7 July and pulled a knife on the victim, causing an injury to his hand.
The offender then locked the 21-year-old victim in a cupboard.
In a strange turn of events, the man then let the victim out of the cupboard, threatened to bash or kidnap him if he called the police and started throwing food and other household items at him.
The victim managed to flee from the house.
The offender later left, stealing a number of items from the house.
Police believe the two people were known to each other and they were in the process of identifying the intruder.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
