Fitness on a hunger drive

Anytime Fitness club manager Shells Cooper is supporting the cause.

TACKLING world hunger is the norm for gyms and fitness junkies.
But Anytime Fitness in Pakenham and Berwick are supporting The Hunger Project Australia to raise money for children in Malawi in Africa.
The gyms are hoping to raise $5000 as part of their fund-raising effort.
There are millions of poor people in developing countries that live on $1.25 a day or less, forcing these people to go without food or water for days on end.
To help break the cycle, Anytime Fitness in Berwick and Pakenham waived their joining fee when new members donated $25 or more.
Co-founder of Anytime Fitness Australia Jacinta McDonell will be travelling to Africa to see exactly where the donated funds will be going.
“I have personally committed to raising $100,000 for The Hunger Project and committed to travelling to Malawi in August to see firsthand what those funds achieve,” she said.
Everyone who donates will be given the opportunity to go into the draw to attend a breakfast reception with Biggest Loser trainer Shannon Ponton.
