We the residents of Kiandra Mews, Hampton Park, agree with Allan Tully that Casey council should not take the lead in creating such a precinct for the performing arts.
These sorts of venues should be built and operated by private enterprises, not the council.
When was the community consulted and given the green light?
Councils are here for the people not to do what they want to do.
Remember the ratepayers are paying your salaries.
We suppose that this is the reason for the rate increase even though the council has mentioned in its website that there will be no increase in rates.
We need an explanation.
When this becomes an eyesore what will happen to the existing three council offices, library?
Will they be sold and council pockets the proceeds of sale?
The council just keeps building venues, ovals, libraries, stadiums, child care centers, which cannot be owned by the council as all this has been paid for by the millions and millions of dollars of ratepayers money.
No wonder the rates have sky-rocketed more than 300 per cent.
With the present Federal budget situation every ratepayer will be slugged left and right not only by the council but also by the government.
It is about time all ratepayers stand up against the council and air their opinions loud and clear.
Failing which the councils will put us in very serious financial hardships.
Solution – form small groups in of your streets with their home address, signatures and send it to the Minister for Local Government.
