THE opening night of the annual Yakkerboo Art Show signalled the start of a great weekend of art in Cardinia shire.
About 200 people attended the opening night and there were plenty of art go-ers on the weekend at the Pakenham Hall.
President of the show Jillian Ronald said it was a great atmosphere and the quality of art was incredible.
“So many volunteers worked very hard to put this event together,” she said.
“I cannot thank them enough.
“I would like to make a special mention of the South Eastern Contemporary Artist Network who helped with every aspect of the show.”
Ms Ronald thanked the community and helpers for another great show.
“The committee believe art should be interactive, diverse, fun and present in our everyday lives,” Ms Ronald said.
“We wanted everyone to feel part of the show, so all our Devonshire tea tables where covered in white paper.
“Adults and children used the crayons provided to contribute fantastic drawings.”
Ms Ronald said she was delighted with the show and quoted from the visitor’s book in which one attendee wrote that it was an awesome night, with great paintings and it was “very inspiring”.
“That just about sums up everything I was hoping for,” she said.
