Silberbacks slide back

A GALLANT Pakenham Silverbacks gridiron outfit pushed its Ballarat Falcons opponents to the brink on Saturday, eventually going down 15-12 at Corio Community Reserve.
Touchdowns from Grant Elliot and later Felix Brown kept the Silverbacks on the verge of recording their first ever win in the Gridiron Victoria competition but the Cardinia side just ran out of time.
The result was the second promising display from the Silverbacks in three weeks and proves the side isn’t just out to make up the numbers in Division 2 in 2014.
Currently in third place in Gridiron Victoria’s second tier, the Silverbacks will next face the Melbourne Uni Lions this Sunday from 10.30am at the Delacombe Sports Centre.
