Abney shines despite loss

MAKING an immediate mark on the mound, Pakenham’s new import Caleb Abney launches a pitch against Boneo in the Pumas 4-8 loss. It wasn’t the Pumas’ week in the Dandenong Baseball Association’s season opener as Boneo took the points at the Toomuc Reserve on Saturday afternoon. The seconds made amends for the firsts’ loss with a 3-1 victory over Boneo while the thirds were pumped 4-13 by Berwick. Pakenham sits sixth on the A1 ladder and faces Dandenong at Dandenong on 26 April. 118541 Picture: STEWART CHAMBERS
