CARDINIA Neighbourhood Watch will be a new feature at the Pakenham Show this year.
The committee has organised a stall on the Wally Trail to promote its work in the community.
Committee member Richard Stanios said organisers would love to see more volunteers to help get the word out.
“We are trying to get ourselves to the community events and we’d love some more volunteers,” he said.
“There are some checks they have to go through first.
“This is a great effort on David and Phil’s part to get this organised for the show.”
Chairman of the group Phil Taylor said organisers were looking forward to being involved in the show.
“We are trying to get more people on board and raise awareness of what we do,” he said.
David Farrelly from the group said organisers were hoping to increase public education about the importance of Neighbourhood Watch.
“Cardinia is a massive area, it’s huge and we are responsible for all of it,” he said.
“The more people we can get from the outer townships, Emerald, Gembrook and Bunyip, the better we can represent the community.
“We are all about educating the community.”
