THE Black Arm Band will treat audiences to the only Victorian performance of Dirtsong at the Drum Theatre this week.
Featuring songs performed in 11 Aboriginal languages, it is a powerful musical journey through Australia’s cultural heartland.
The performance is on Thursday 13 March at 8pm.
The Drum Theatre will also host the world premiere of the Asanti Dance Theatre’s new show called Mumo.
The show explores the notion of spirit and draws on the stories, myths and legends of traditional African culture.
It uses multiple dance forms including traditional African dance, hip-hop, acrobatics, freestyle and contemporary to convey the rich narratives of the African culture.
Mumo will be held at Drum Theatre on Thursday 27 March at 8pm and Friday 28 March at 2pm and 8pm.
