Barefoot in the dark

BERWICK Bowling Club is inviting the community to take off their shoes and kick up their heels for a fun game of barefoot bowls.
The club’s promotions committee chairman Tony Wynen said the club had kicked off the barefoot bowling program for season 2013-14 and urged people to get involved in the fun.
“If you ever wondered what lawn bowling is all about this is your opportunity to try and you may even be good at this fabulous sport,” he said.
“This game is played by the general public and no skills are required as there are many club volunteers to show you how.”
The club has one synthetic green, three grass greens and flood lights for late games.
Bookings can be made to start playing from 5pm to 7.30pm every Friday night, with a sausage sizzle starting at 6pm and drinks available at bar prices.
Bookings will be taken from groups as small as four people to more than 100.
To get involved call Kay Crook on 5944 3708 or mobile 0407 511 493.
