THE history of Officer has been immortalised in felt in the Cardinia Shire Council offices.
Year 7 students from Pakenham Secondary College created the felt mural and donated it to the shire on Friday 8 November.
The mural, using the history of Officer as inspiration, was created using fleece from a sheep which the students watched being shorn during an excursion to Warrook Farm in Monomeith.
Pakenham Secondary College Science Lab Technician Anne Golding devoted many hours to the project by teaching felting techniques to the students, including teasing, carding, dying and hand stitching.
The students presented the mural to outgoing Mayor Brett Owen.
History never felt so good
